Our room @ Brennans Yard Hotel
by sabsi
When we were searching for a hotel in Galway to accommodate 20 people during the arts festival we were shocked when we saw the hotel prices. Brennans Yard Hotel gave us the best rates at EUR 165 for a double room.
It's a nice hotel but not really worth the amount of money spent. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, staff is very friendly, showers are warm and the (Full Irish) breakfast is tasty but there's this certain something missing that justifies spending as much as 165 Euro for a night.
You can park your car at Merchants street parking for 7 Euro a night.
The best feature of the hotel is definitely its location. It's next to the Spanish Arch right in the city centre of Galway. It takes you a minute to walk to Quay street with all its pubs and restaurants.
No need to mention that this also means that it can get quite noisy. Make sure to ask for a room facing the backyard as it's much less noisy than the ones facing the street.
