This B&B, run by Pat and Helen Hanlon, is a ten minute walk from the city center. They are wonderful hosts and have lots of tips to share about things to see and do, just tell them what your interests are.
Unique Quality: All rooms are "en suite," with bathroom. Helen made special arrangements so we could stay over another day even though she and Pat were leaving town. This was great because we did not have to change B&Bs for our last night. She also showed us where the local Laundromat is on Saint Joseph's Avenue and volunteered to have Pat pick up our clothes when they were done so we could spend more time sightseeing. This was just wonderful.
Directions: N59 into the west half of city, split by R Corrib. It becomes Newcastle Rd, passes UnivHospital College on right. Rt on Shantalla Street (not marked), just past Cookes. Spires Gardens is a small, walled compound (no street sign easily visible) on left.
