Good enough!

Located outside the city centre just on the ring road. Good value at €125 for a good room for 2, but breakfast was pricey at €33.80 for 2. The room was excellent – quiet and comfortable.

Staff were very efficient, if not exactly friendly, although when we turned up at 7am for breakfast (when it was due to start) they were not ready.

It has a free car park in the basement, and that’s fine apart from one problem. Reception has to validate your ticket each time before you leave, and one time I had a bit of a wait whilst they dealt with people checking in.

Its about a 10 minute walk into the centre, but that’s fine if it means peace and quiet (which you may not get in a central hotel due to traffic and revellers at all hours!)

It has a spa, which we did not have time to use.

Unique Quality: Peace + quiet

Great hotel, way to go Marriott!

Very nice hotel.. Loyal to Marriott hotels in the states and this was probably the best Courtyard I've seen. Large bar and lounge area (ate there both nights, Seafood wrap one night, fish and chips the next, both outstanding, really) with a separate menu for lighter fare, and a separate restaurant if you're looking for a bigger meal. Wi-fi access in all rooms, and I think the cost was around 10 EU for 24 hrs. While this hotel i heard was a little outside of town, it's really not far at all.. We had a rental car and made it to a city centre car park in under 5 min.. it's probably only 2 miles by crow. There's also a grocery store within walking distance, makes it nice if you are there for a while and don't want to pay $6-7 per beer (not that the hotel is expensive, just the exchange rate to the US dollar and such). Overall Great stay, would be back to this courtyard in a heart beat.

Excellent Place to Rest

Although a touch difficult to find if you're not used to roundabouts, the Courtyard Galway was a decent place to stay. Pretty standard Marriott grade service and facilities. The rooms all featured the signature Marriott bedding and ours had a large closet, huge bathroom, and sofa seating section. The room was completely computer ready and had a nice huge workstation.

The hotel has a nice bar and also a cute restaurant on-site. The Olive Tree Bistro had some great room service. I would recommend the the Olive Tree Green Pizza and the Point Bar Burger with some apple pie for a great ending.

Unique Quality: Probably the service in The Point Bar was a highlight. Very fast, and clean, simple food. There are no really great views of the city, and the hotel was not within a decent walking distance (contrary to their website,) during the winter months.

Relaxing quarters

Facilities were impeccable, however the hotel restaurant was a little lacking - both in terms of service, and food.

Hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from downtown Galway, and is a great alternative to B&B style lodging.

More about Courtyard By Marriott Galway

Great hotel

by TripAdvisor Member biddy06

just back from a 2 night stay here. the hotel is fabalous. its very modern and very clean. our room had 2 double beds and the bathroom was huge with all marble. the room also had a mini fridge which was very handy. i could not fault the hotel. the only thing that i would say was get your breakfast elsewhere. if you dont mind paying 15 euros per person then stay and eat in the hotel. its a huge buffet and you can help yourself as many times as you like. we went next door to the spar shop and got breakfast rolls for 3 euro, as we slept it out for breakfast on the 2 mornings.!! the food in the hotel bar was lovely. great variety and your not waiting very long for it too.

location isnt too bad. it is about a 10-15 minute walk into the city centre. we took a taxi most times and the prices ranged from 6-12 euro depending on which company you went with.

i would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody

Nice new property, lame breakfast

by TripAdvisor Member gworm

This Courtyard is brand new. The rooms are very nice and well kept if a bit small. It is not right in the middle of Galway but not too far from downtown - a short cab ride. The only downside was the breakfast - the watery eggs and just general low quality. I felt that they could have had fewer items of better quality rather than a variety of weak options.

Good but not in the centre of town

by TripAdvisor Member Eric_and_Dora

Clean and modern hotel on the edge of the city centre. Close to some shops but a 20 minute walk into the main city shopping area. Well situated for car based travel in the region. Free undercover parking. Very helpful staff - duty manager was exceptionally helpful. Vegetarian options on reasonably price dinner menu. Excellent breakfast.

Nice hotel

Stayed there for the weekend with my partner

Rooms very comfortable, proper 'blackout' curtains meant we slept late, and only just made it up for breakfast. Good buffet selection, not the most extensive I've ever seen but good all the same.

Ate in the reastaurant on arrival, nice bistro style, nothing too fancy, but good quality and served by attentive staff.

It's not a hotel with a view, as others have said, but it's 15min walk to the centre of Galway, (€6 -10 by taxi) and very handy for getting in and out of. Those who complained about it being a little far from Galway centre, have never experienced how bad the traffic can be!!

Love this hotel

Stayed in tis hotel for a weekend with a mate. We arrived late enough on the friday evening acould not have asked for a nicer, warmer welcome by the friendly receptionist. The room was lovely and had nothing to complain about. Vey modern clean and new! Location excellent and the hotel even orgainised our taxis into town (only couple of minutes in taxi) even though the taxi landed promptly the receptionist told us to relax take our time and finish our drink in the bar. Ordered room service at 2am sat night and it was excellent. Will DEFINITLY stay in this hotel again!!!!!!

Great spot!

by TripAdvisor Member Sha79

Stayed in this hotel for the Galway Arts Festival last year. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious.
The location was fantastic, just a 5 minute taxi ride to the city centre.
The food was fab, great selection available for breakfast.
The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and answered all of our queries with a pleasant smile.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel to all and will def be staying there again when I return to Galway!
