The Dolphin Hotel & Restaurant: A Friend to The Ecology & The Traveler
The Dolphin is one of three hotels situated in the Village off the pier. It started as a restaurant before expanding to include 11 ensuite bedrooms. The Coyne Siblings, Pat & Cathy, have made certain that those who stay with them are well satisfied whilst looking out for the environment. My bedroom was warm and inviting, with a lovely view of the sea. The carpet, thick and soft, felt delicious to trail weary feet. The bed, so comfortable and inviting, I slept well and woke to clouds scudding across the sky outside my window.
The Coynes' have a strong commitment to protecting the environment. This was evident by their use of solar panels and underfloor heating. The grounds are tastefully landscaped and they have their own organic vegetable and herb garden.
The hotel has a honeymoon suite, complete with a double bath. It also has three downstairs rooms with private sundecks. One of the downstairs rooms is wheelchair accessible

Lobster Pot Cottage: Stay a Week, Creates Memories For Life
This is a self catering cottage situated on the East end of the Island. The views are phenomenal. The seashore and beach are just a short walk. I stayed there by myself, but it would be perfect for a family of four. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, one with a double bed and one with two singles, which share a bathroom. The kitchen and living room, downstairs, are open, like our great rooms here. Every modern convenience is provided. They provide the bed linens, but you must bring your own towels. There is a small patio with a barbecue, which I found to be perfect for the first morning cup of coffee.
I would highly recommend it to anyone wnating to "escape" for a week. Artists and photographers would definitely appreciate this lovely self catering cottage.
