Travel Tips for Loughrea

A very brief visit.............................

by leics

......when the light was going. The Carmelite monastery was built in the thirteenth century, and is remarkably well-preserved. But it was shut, so I just had a quick wander round.

Probably worth visiting when everything is open, and the lough itself is pretty.

The town was once walled and moated, and the remains of both have been incorporated into rather a pleasant streamside walk.
