More about Castlewood House

Wish we had more time there!

by TripAdvisor Member mag1007

This was one of the best b and bs we stayed in on our 10 day trip through Ireland. Helen and Brian were so accomidating and agree with other posters...the best breakfast!! The rooms were so well decorated with incri ble views and great jacuzzi tubs in each room! (they had standing showers as well)
With just a short walk into the town of Dingle, Castlewood house was a perfect choice!

Great place, clean, new, view

by TripAdvisor Member AtTheBeachNow

This property is almost brand new and a great place to stay. It doesn't feel new or like a hotel, but a very nice B&B that you can come back to and relax. Brian was great. Super guy and a great cook. I loved it here. The view of the harbor (on a sunny day) is awesome. Easy downhill drive into town or easy walk. Dingle is a great place to hangout. Very friendly people, fun pubs. The drive around the peninsula is UNBELIEVEABLE. We must have taken 800 scenery pictures. Just an amazing coast line. Head out of the B&B and go right to see the coast line (1-3 hour drive).
Best place for a beer at 10am is Dick Mack's. Tell Oliver behind the bar hello. It's a shoe-store with about 5 chairs and bar on one side. Classic place.

castlewoodhouse is a wonderful 4 star guesthouse on a quiet location with lovely views overlooking the natural harbour but only few minutes walk from dingles pubs & restaurants. The breakfast is amazing, best in the world everything homemade , organic meats, cheeses, even piping hot bread&butterpudding, scones, spiced fruits ect. we will be back for sure.

The best , simply the best !

by TripAdvisor Member Hoopie

After being on the road for 7 days, my sisters and I were in need of some pampering. We certainly found it at Castlewood. Everything everyone has said is true, and then some. First Brian and Helen are just delightful. He's an excellent omelet chef. Can't say enough about the breakfast. Absolute gourmet. The room was beautifully furnished and clean, clean , clean. It was the largest room we had on our entire trip. The whole house is beautifully furnished and very inviting. The only bad experience of our two day stay there, was having to leave.

Beautiful Inn, great hospitality and wonderful breakfast

by TripAdvisor Member traveltexan

We stayed at the Castlewood House in March for two nights. This small inn is newly built with beautiful decor and thoughtful design. The best part of the inn is the hospitality shown by the owners who were more than willing to give us suggestions for dinner and local pubs. The inn is just outside the city center, and we walked about 5-10 minutes to eat or shop. I will never forget the Irish breakfasts at the Castlewood, which would be worth another trip alone - they were delicious and some of the best I've had at B&Bs. I recommend the Castlewood house for couples seeking to getaway from the hustle and bustle, but still be close enough to town to enjoy good music, food and drink. Don't miss the amazing scenery on the Dingle way drive even in chilly March.

A Great Place

Beautiful, modern B&B with very clean rooms and stunning views. Best shower and bed of the trip. Easy walk to town of Dingle. We had booked 2 rooms and half of our party got stuck back in the States the first night of trip because of a missed connection, Brian was able to rebook their room on short notice so they did not have to pay for it. Sadly, we missed the breakfast because we had to pick the rest of our party up at the airport early in the morning but he left a nice tray out for us. Brian was very helpful with directions, pub recommendations, etc.. Would stay here again without a doubt, but would stay for longer.

A gem!!

We spent two nights in this wonderful guest house and enjoyed every minute. The gracious rooms are spacious, airy and comfortable--with oversized bathrooms/showers and king beds (a rare find in Ireland!). The views of Dingle Bay are quite memorable and beautiful. Breakfast is outstanding (our teenagers loved it too). Helen, our hostess, made excellent suggestions for navigating the busy holiday weekend (we didn't realize just how busy when we booked). We wished we were a little closer to town--it is a good 15 minute walk back to Castlewood which can be long at the end of the night. A big plus for our teens was the DVD player in the rooms, and a good selection of movies to borrow--after 10 days of non-stop touring, an evening to watch a movie was a good break for them. We would definitely return to this special place.

Best B&B in Ireland!

by TripAdvisor Member WHMU7877

This B&B is in a new and modern house (built in 2005). The furnishings are beautiful and all appliances are up-to-date. The bathtub has whirlpool jets. The bed is so comfortable.
The hosts are very kind, and breakfast was perfect. So many choices of delicious foods.
The house is about 10 minutes walk from downtown, which is perfect so that it was very quiet when we were sleeping.
I didn't want to leave, and only wish all European hotels and B&B's could be so luxurious. Also a great value for the price!

Couldn't be better

by TripAdvisor Member NB_traveller96

We are just back from Ireland, where we stayed in many very nice B&Bs and hotels, but none can compare with Castlewood House. This is truly an exceptional place, and very reasonably priced considering the opulence of the rooms and the excellent breakfast (try the porridge with Baileys Irish Cream!). I can't recommend this place too highly.

fantastic !!!
