There's no place to stay on this island. The boats bring you here only for a few hours during the day. Nobody is allowed to stay overnight! (I wonder what they do if there is a bad storm and the boats don't go back to the mainland though...)

We stayed in a wonderful B&B in St. Finan's Bay - only 4 miles over the hill from Portmagee from where the boats to Skellig Michael leave. It's called Beach Cove and you will find all details in the next tip.

The fact that there is no place to stay on Skellig Michael makes it kinda unique, eh?
