Great Location Good Hotel Nice Staff
by maryingermany about Best Western International Hotel Killarney
Everything was clean and tidy. My girlfriend and the people we met there were high maintenance and grilled the staff for places to go, itineraries and things to see while we were there and all were very helpful. As far as a great location for nightlife and places to eat. Perfect! Great hotel great stay! We got the room at the last minute so probably paid a little more. About 80.00 Euro, I believe, per night for two persons. Not bad for the timing.
Excellent hotel

Just returned from a group trip to International Hotel, Killarney. Have stayed in Killarney several times but this is the first time we have stayed at the International. Extremely good hotel, rooms fabulous, food excellent and all staff extremely pleasant.
Wish we could have stayed longer!
Brilliant Best Western

We stayed at the Best Western International Hotel on the week commencing June 5th 2006. The hotel is in an excellent city centre location with a very impressive facade and it looked like it was recently renovated.
We booked executive rooms which came equipped with a plasma TV, ensuite jacuzzi, brand new furniture and huge queen size beds. The food was amazing and came in huge portions.
It has a fantastic bar (Hannigans Bar and restaurant) which has live music nightly.
It's near all the local attractions such as the Ring of Kerry, Gap of Dunloe and all the shops and pubs of Killarney.
The staff were polite and friendly and the reception staff very helpful.
All in all we would thoroughly recommend it and hope to back again some day soon.

Friendly and Convenient

Stayed in the Hotel in September 2006. It is in an excellent location with very well appointed, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were very firendly and helpful, breakfast in particular was a delight with everything served freshly to your table - no luke warm buffet experience here!
Parking can be a problem but I would recomment the public car park just up the road (no need to pay if you arrive after 5.30pm and leave before 9.30pm).
There was quite a bit of construction work outside the hotel when we stayed which woke us up one morning but hopefully this will soon be finished. All in all an excellent, well run and looked after hotel from which to explore Killarney and the surrounding area.
Perfect place!

We stayed two nights at the Best Western International in Killarney and loved it. Upon check-in the front desk was so very helpful in giving us options on where to park the car. When asked, she recommended a couple of good pubs and a great Thai Restaurant. The double bed, single bed room was very large, as was the bathroom with a heated towel rack! The breakfasts were wonderful. On the first day of breakfast, we showed up at 10am sharp (thinking 10:30 was the ending time) and learned that 10am was the correct closing time. They still served us a hot meal when requested. Very friendly staff. Convenient location to all the shops, pubs, and restaurants.
Excellent hotel, we loved it.

My wife and I stayed at the International in January for two nights.
The hotel gives the impression that it has had major refurbishment recently and is absolutely spotless.
Our room was perfect with a huge double bed, television and tea making facilities, bath and shower. there was no Mini-Bar.
The staff were excellent, full Irish breakfast was superb in beautiful surroundings.
All in all excellent. Hotel.
Pleasantly Surprised

I stayed here on Friday for one night. The single room rate was 70 Euro bed & breakfast. The hotel is easy to find and very central. They dont have a car park but they do have a set down area outside where you can offload your bags before moving the car to the carpark up the road (pay and display, 1 Euro an hour but free from around 6.30pm to 8.30am). You can park outside the hotel if there's a space but you need to get down at 9 in the morning to move it or to get a parking disc up. That bit is 1.50 an hour.
The girl at reception was very nice. The room was a double so there was plenty of space. The heating was up WAY too high so I switched it off. It was still too hot when we got back about 1 a.m. My friends' room was too hot for them as well.
The room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. There is tea/coffee making facilities; trouser press; iron & board. The power points are easy to get to for, say, phone charging so no standing on heads required.
Breakfast was very good (goes on till 10 during the week and 10.:30 at the weekend) and the staff great.
I didnt eat in the hotel but my friends did the night before and they said they really enjoyed it.
There was quite a good atmosphere in the bar although it was miles too hot in there too. Their heating bills are unnecessarily high!
Terrible, Dated Hotel Falsly Advertised

I had the displeasure of booking The International Hotel in Killarney with your company at the weekend. This hotel was the best recommended hotel on your website and at €99/per night was the same price as several other hotels in Killarney for same weekend
Please find below my list of problems with this hotel:
Dirty lobby – wallpaper lifting of walls - dirty suite of furniture
No parking with hotel – should have been told this when booking – had to park 200 metres away – very wet night
Lift very old – poorly decorated
Corridor on way to room – floorboards creaky
Carpet on corridor and in bedroom – cheap with very low pile
Asked for double bed – got twin bed
Actual beds – very hard – need replacing
Bedroom – decoration very dated
The hotel website actually states that your company looks after the website
This hotel advertises itself as a luxury hotel on its website. This description and pictures of hotel are grossly misleading. This hotel needs a complete renovation. Thankfully, I was able to book into the fabulous The Ross Hotel next door for a mere €10 extra a night. This hotel is a superb new hotel. Bedrooms with a very comfortable bed, flat screen tv, ultra modern fittings, wet room in bathroom etc etc.
