Rivermere House, Harmony Inn, Killarney.: A great night!!!

Far enough from the town to not have a traffic problem, the Harmony Inn was just what we needed with a large free parking and a decent breakfast the next morning. The receptionnist did us proud with the room she gave us. A large suite with wet bar, living room and a vast bathroom..We stayed n Rivermere House as Harmony Inn have another couple of b+b's.

We paid 60€ for the double inc b'fast , the cheapest we had paid up 'til now in Ireland. It would also prove to be cheapest in our 10 daystrip.

Unique Quality: Ask for this room if you can, must be the largest in the whole hotel, you can see on the photos which one it is.

Tatler Jack: Stag Weekend B&B

I stayed here for three nights in February 2010.

It was for a stag weekend. Paddy, a very good Irish mate of mine, was the stag and because his friend owns the place we were made to feel very welcome. There were about 30-40 of us and we were all told about a month beforehand that the theme of the weekend was beards. We all arrived very hairy.

An excellent time was had by all. Plenty of Guinness was drunk and there were numerous large screen TVs to keep us happy watching the football and the rugby.

The bar kept open until about 2am, but as residents we managed to get a pint until a wee bit later. Needless to say that when the coach arrived at 4.30 am to take us to the airport on the Sunday morning I hadn't really troubled to try and use the bed.

Unique Quality: Breakfast was plentiful with a full cooked Irish consisting of bacon, sausages, eggs, black and white pudding. Cereals and toast.

Not you most luxurious of places, but ideal for the stag weekend.

Ross Castle Lodge: Classy B&B

Lovely owner (Rosaleen O'Leery) who has widely travelled herself and has a great sense of humour. First class breakfast and very relaxed atmosphere. Very nice rooms, warm and a decent shower in a good sized bathroom.

Unique Quality: Just opposite one entrance to the Killarney national park, a stroll up the road from Ross Castle and close enough to walk into town or back home from the pub!

B&Bs, hotels: Where to find accomodation

If you go down the Muckross rd in Killarney, it is lined with B+Bs and hotels, so you are bound to find something there. The top hotels in Killarney are Killarney Towers (College st), Gleneagles and of course, the Holiday Inn.

In Black Valley there're only two places to stay - a hostel in the center of the village and a B&B on the outskirts. The hostel is really nice and clean. It has a nice lounge with a TV, as well as a kitchen, and the owners also run a general store on the other side of the building.

While visiting Ireland, the best lodging recommendation is to stay at Bed and Breakfast's. They're all around the island, so it's not that hard to find one when driving around. Here: Birchwood House.
