A Great B&B

We extended our stay here a day just because of how much we liked this B&B. Situated on quiet hill with a great view of the mountains and lakes of the region off in the distance and yet only a 10 minute walk from the center of town. Mrs. Josephine Lawlor and her husband run this purpose built and new B&B. She has 4 very large ensuite rooms with all the ammenities, including a balcony I could get out on and have my smoke. Two rooms overlook the mountains, but I would guess the other two have decent views also.

Breakfast was huge and the choices abundant and served downstairs in a room large enough to seat all the guests at once. A very nice sitting room available to all guests with local brochures and a fireplace, but the guest room itself is large enough you can just relax there quite nicely. Large gated parking area and street parking also available on the quiet cul-de-sac.

We were the only guests our first night and only one other room was taken our second night. Hosts were friendly and helpful but discrete. The house is just south of Killarney's city centre yet has easy access to the road heading out of town to the National Park and Mukross House. Ask Josephine about the short cut when you walk into town. It's all down hill heading there but the shortest route on the return is nice.

Unique Quality: This was the best B&B I have stayed at in Ireland and that says a lot.

A: "One-hour bus ride would probably be easiest as I don't think there is a train. Check http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1214926849-279k.pdf"
