Hill Walking
There are many hill walking trails around Muckross. I like to mountain bike on many of them so watch out! The picture below shows the lower & middle lakes taken from the path up to the devils bit on mangerton mountain.

We will be visiting in May and would like to kwow if there is any transport from Killarney to Dingle besides the daily bus or renting a car(not a good option) We would like to take the bus tour of the Ring of Kerry one day, and then get over to Dingle later on that day if at all possible.
Any ideas?
There is really only Bus Eireann serving Dingle or hire a car (Budget have an office in Killarney) I have to admit that Dingle would not be on my favourites list especially without the use of a car. The Slea Head and Connor Pass are well worth seeing but need a car.

This square medieval tower which was built by the O' Donoghues in the 15th century is beautifully situated on the shores of Lough Lein. Now restored, the castle houses a fine collection of 16th and 17th century oak furniture. Killarney to the rose castle, take about 30min by walk. There are beautiful walking course.
There are several small beaches along the middle lake, most popular is Dundag. Walk from Muckross house to Torc waterfall through the national park for about 1km. The picture below is taken from the pier at Dinis in mid November, swimming not advisable at that time of year!!!
Killarney, the main town in Kerry County, in the Irish southwestern coast is as Irish as one can be. Quaint shops line the tidy treeless streets and the haunting Irish music pervades especially in the evening. The St Mary's Cathedral steeples dominate the mainly low-rise skyline which gives a more relaxed country-town feel. Killarney is a great base to explore Kerry County which is an adventure tourism region where trekking and horseback riding are popular. The county is rich in Irish folklore and history making it a great destination to know the Irish people more intimately. There is larger proportion of Gaelic-speaking people in Kerry County than in other parts of Ireland, an ancient native language that has been over-run by the language of its former colonial masters, England.
The buildings around Killarney are typical subdued British style. In summertime, the flower boxes are festooned with brightly-coloured flora, and the English-style parks are clean and green. Killarney has a beautiful national park overlooking the beautiful lake with an evocative ruined Ross castle on its coast. The town is part of the touristic route called the "Ring of Kerry" which goes around the southwest peninsula of Ireland.
