Wonderful Hostel

Wow, this place was like a woodland lodge, or an inn, or even hotel. I can't believe it was called a hostel at all. The buildings are wonderful, all made of wood...hardwood floors, beds, furniture, clean and polished, looked very new (as of 2007). Big rooms, kitchen, dining area, TV room, and so inexpensive!

In Dublin it's difficult to find a good hostel bed for under 40 euro a night. This hostel was about 15 euro for a *private double bed room*, less for larger dorms. Very peaceful, almost empty in mid-June. Portmagee has one main street and the hostel can be found by taking a left from the main road up to a street parallel to it.

Perfect place to stay if you're taking a break at the halfway point fo the Ring of Kerry, or planning on taking a trip to the Skellings in the morning. Lots of boats take of from Portmagee every day.
