Coolanowle Country House: Farmstead Spa
Coolanowle Country House is a lovely B & B located at Ballickmoyler, few kilometres North/ West of Carlow. The farm lies a bit off the main road and is surrounded by a spacious garden; therefore it's a very quiet, relaxing place. You can choose between a room at the main building or one of the self catering cottages.
Our room was at the annex and did have an entrance of its own. It was clean, pretty big with lovely antique furnishings. The bathroom had been renovated just recently.
Coolanowle is an organic farm and therefore most of the food that is served is home made and/ or organic. The breakfast simply is a culinary delight, there is a buffet with cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, etc. PLUS you can choose from various breakfast menus like "Full Irish", pancakes or omelette. Just have a look at their home page, you can find the full menu there.
The B & B also offers several spa treatments like massages, manicure, etc. but we did not check out this additional service.
