I would like to know how one can reliably get from Limerick to Shannon Airport to catch an Aer Lingus
flight that leaves for London at 0845. Is there a shuttle service, a public bus, a private car/taxi to hire
that would accomplish this in a reasonably economical way? When answering, please include the name
of the service, the time schedule, cost and any other pertinent information that would enable us to make
a reservation. Thank you
Looks like you could take the bus all the way, with a change of buses.
1. Go to: http://www.buseireann.ie/
2. Right under where it states "Buy tickets" look for a smaller red box titled "Journey planner"
3. Plug in the two values below (don't need the stuff inside the parenthesis)
Limerick (Bus Station)
Dublin Airport (Atrium Road)
As an alternative, I know you can also take the train from Limerick to Dublin Heuston station, but I'm not sure how you'd catch the airport shuttle bus from the station ... http://www.aircoach.ie/ - maybe a taxi from there would work.
All the best.
Nomad, you are giving directions for Dublin Airport. I think they are looking for Shannon Airport which is close to Limerick ???? I have never gone that way so I cannot answer, but I think you have the wrong Airport ??
yes, look up two posts - they're corrected. My mistake. Actually can use the same link just change to from Dublin to Shannon. The dangers of posting late at night..

visit County Clare's Burren region. It looks other-worldly. Like a moonscape. Desolate, abandoned...but it is brimming in plant life! Alive in every sense...A fascinating growing region. if you are a gardener or horticulturist, you'll LOVE the burren!! And I am aware that County Clare and the Burren are not in Limerick, but VT doesn't have an appropriate place to put them!
A soft side bag that is expandable, especially if you tend to pick up books, CDs and sweaters! During the summer I found most places informal. You need a sweater for the evenings (of course you can buy one at Christy's). Jeans or Khaki pants seemed acceptable almost everywhere. A jacket is recommended for attending classical music concerts, although jeans and shirts have been spotted at concert halls.
You can also check out the 50-m pool in the University of Limerick on the Dublin road. I tried it out recently and it is absolutely fantastic - was knackered by the end of the session though as I am not used to a 50m. I'll definitely go back though.
?6 for a session and you can stay as long as you like. Flip-flops, bathing suit (of course!) Swimming cap essential.
Check out the farmers market that is held downtown every Saturday (I think, it could've been Sunday) morning. Farmers and merchants from around the area come into town to sell fresh produce and all sorts of nick-nacks. Nice way to kill some time on a weekend morning.
