    Good Irish Breakfast!

I stayed here on a University trip in 1997, so my impressions are probably a little out of date now! It's a very modern hotel, so if you're looking for something olde-worlde, it won't be for you, but the facilities are very good indeed. All the rooms seemed to be on the ground floor, so good for anybody with mobility issues, although it does make for some long corridors. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious, with an ensuite bathroom (wonderful showers!). There's a capacious restaurant, which when I stayed there did very good food indeed - Irish breakfasts (pretty much the same as a full English with one or two extras), and superb dinners. The only quibble we had was that the wait between the courses was quite long. They can even put up packed lunches for you if you are taking a group sightseeing. The bar seemed like a pleasant place to relax and have a few drinks.

It's conveniently located just outside Limerick, on the Limerick/Clare border, so handy for visiting Bunratty Castle and the Burren district.

Comfortable Hotel in Limerick

by nylo about Two Mile Inn Hotel

When we arrived they didnt actually have our booking, that we made online. But with printed proof of our booking the girl on reception accommodated us quickly and checked us in with no hassel. The room was larger than what we'd booked, so no complaints with the room. Was clean and comfortable. There was a pub/restaurant just next door to the hotel which had fabulous meals! It was one of my most memorable meals in Ireland actually, a beautiful Satay Chicken dish! Yum! Car parking

can anyone recommend a nice hotel in or near downtown Limerick? Is there a site somewhere on the Net which has all hotels of the city listed up? Oh, and how long does it take to get from Shannon Airport to Limerick by taxi?

Thanks a lot in advance,

I worked in Limerick for about 3 months and always stayed in the little guesthouse called Alexandra Guest House on O'Connell Street. It's very good value for money and the people who ran it were very friendly and couldn't do enough for me.

The taxi was about 20 minutes from Shannon.

There are quite a few hotels in Limerick to choose from - depending omnn your budget.

The best value hotel in the town centre (nice rooms bar/ restaurant) is Jurys Inn 3* quality (dont get confused with the more expensive Jury's hote - 5*l!) details can be found on www.jury's
slightly more upmarketare 'The Clarion' (4*) - on the riverfront, or the 'Southcourt' or 'The Castle Troy Park' (a bit far out).

Shannon is about 30 mins from Limerick, and there are plenty of hotels on the way. Theres a 'travel lodge' - bit cheaper, just outside limerick on the road to shannon, along with 'the two mile inn' and the 'sas Raddison'.
But my advice would definately be to stay in the 'Jurys inn'. Great location, right side of the city for Shannon (avoids traffic - which in limerick can be awful!) and reasonable price (by Irish standards) about 70 Euros a night.

Hope it helps a little, but check out the hotels on thier websites. Need anything more just post another inquiry.

good luck
