St Lawrence Gate
Not that far from Drogheda you can find Newgrange, a unique stone aged tomb.
The great megalithic tomb at Newgrange is over 5,500 years old. Their survival through more than 5,500 years reflects the sophistication of their design, and ingenuity of the Stone Age man which constructed them.
Drogheda is a small town just north of Dublin, with around 25.000 people living here, and is one of Ireland's oldest and most historical towns. This photo shows the St Lawrence Gate, a watchtower, that is one of the few remainings from the old defense wall around Drogheda build in 1200.
