Hotel is run by Michael Crowe and Denis Lenihan, former chefs at Ashford Castle. Needless to say, the food in the hotel restaurant is top-notch! That goes for a gourmet dinner, a simple lunch, or breakfast. Very tourist friendly, but the place is also a favorite with the locals. For a bit of craic, check out the Crowe's Nest Pub located in the same building.
Unique Quality: Located right in the heart of Cong village, County Mayo. Easy access to all of the local historical sites, like Cong Abbey, the Dry Canal, the Quiet Man tour, etc. Also a great place to start your tours of the rest of County Mayo. Galway City is just 45 minutes away.
Directions: Main Street Cong
Centrally located in the village and with an attached restaurant (the fennel seed : couldn't eat there as it was booked out but it looked good) and pub (the Crowes nest: pleasant place to have a drink or a casual bite). Its a lot more reasonably priced than Ashford Castle!
Unique Quality: Handy for anyone using the bus from Galway to get to Cong
Directions: Its a small place, so Main st means Main st! :)
Heard some good reports of this reasonably priced hotel in Cong. Appartantly it is virtually impossible to book a place in the restaurant.
Two chefs from the world famous Ashford Castle took over the place and are now working for themselves - book now before they move onto greater things.
Unique Quality: The seating out the back, by the car park looks out onto a beauttiful stretch of river.
P.S The name of the hotel has nothing to do with Ryan's daughter, which was mainly filmed in County Clare and Kerry. It just seemed appropriate at the time.
