Ely House, Shannonbridge: great place to stay when visiting Clonmacnoise

Great location, walking distance to great Pubs including Killeens famous Music pub. Old Fort Restaurant located by the river is also close. Great rooms, friendly hosts and superb breakfasts. Also has Wifi and Carpark. Great value all round

Located in Shannonbridge Village which is the local village of Clonmacnoise. Marina, Pubs, Restaurant all very good. Authentic Irish village which is quite popular with visitors from River and Clonmacnoise

Kajon House B&B: Pancakes and funny people

Finding a B&B near Clonmacnoise was not so easy, there are not so much. We were happy to find this cosy B&B, with view on the Shannon (or rather parts of it), only few miles away from the site of Clonmacnoise.

This B&B has been one of the best we’ve been at during our holidays in Ireland. The owners Kate and John are such cheerful, humorous and friendly people, and the self-made pancakes at breakfast (like the whole breakfast) were great!

As you can see in the photo: it is a really fine page to spend one or more nights....

It is located in the famous village of ORANMORE just 5 minutes from Galway City Centre on the main DUBLIN - GALWAY road and the main LIMERICK - GALWAY road, close to GALWAY AIRPORT and just one hour from SHANNON AIRPORT .

THE MOORINGS is an ideal base when on business or touring THE BURREN and CONNEMARA (which I did......)

Amenities close by include: Golf, Sailing, Wind Surfing, Renville Park and a LANGUAGE CENTRE..

THE MOORINGS houses a delightful Nautical fully licensed RESTAURANT and SUPERB ACCOMODATION and......that is true, I can recommend this place to you!

Q: Day tours to Clonmacnoise "Hi everyone! I am really interested in visiting Clonmacnoise, however, I've had a hard time finding a day tour to the site...."

A: "There are organised tours but you could contact Paddy Kavanagh in Athlone who runs a mini bus to there on a daily run. For a different approach then the Riverqueeen boat..."
