I know this is an ancient post, but I found it today.
Whoever posted the last remark either has no idea what they're talking about or was deliberately misleading the original poster.
The funfair is alive and well and getting better every year!
I was surprised to see surfers at Tramore beach when I visited here. There are a couple of surf shops here where I guess those of you willing to brave the chilly Atlantic Ocean can hire a board and wetsuit, and probably a coach too.
