Woodlands Hotel is one of the few Hotels in Waterford that has its own leisure centre complete with pool. The others (at the time of writing this) are Waterford Castle, faithlegg House Hotel, and the Tower Hotel. It is my opinion, however, that Woodlands leaisure centre is the best. They also boast an Aveda hairdressers and full beauty salon which is run by one of the best beauticians in town.

The hotel is situated about three miles from the City centre so it is not slap bang in the middle of things. However, it's right on a main bus route and taxis to the city are cheap. There are also quite a number of good bars and restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance.

I live very close to this hotel so I have never stayed here. However, friends of mine have and they say standards are excellent. The hotel is on the new side so it's bright and airy.

There's a lively bar and a fairly decent restaurant. They also serve good bar food.

Some of the rooms feature wonderful views of the River Suir and the countryside towards Cheekpoint and Passage East.

Directions: Drive through Waterford City and head in the Direction of Dunmore East. The Hotel is on the left about three miles from the City centre.
