Dunbrody Country House Hotel: The best hotel in SE Ireland, worth the splurge!

Besides being right in my husband's hometown, the Dunbrody House has a lot of wonderful qualities that have made it my favorite place to stay in Ireland so far. The rooms are gorgeous -- nice and spacious with a table for eating in and an enormous bathroom. The Dunbrody Country House Hotel is set on 200 quiet, picturesque acres. Originally a manor built in the 1830s.

Unique Quality: Get a room on the ground floor -- the doors open to the back of the property. Walk around the extensive lawns and landscaping behind the hotel and you'll feel transported to Pemberly in Pride and Prejudice. The staff is wonderful and the restuarant and food are excellent. Definitely make a reservation to eat in the hotel restaurant at least one night during your stay. The price of rooms is higher than what we normally pay but is well worth it.
