Travel Tips for Avoca

Ireland's Oldest Mill

by ciaobellamici

"Soft!"

Living in Michigan gives me plenty of opportunities to wear warm scarves and the one that gets the most compliments came from Avoca!
Avoca is a lovely little village south east of Glendolaugh and worth the hour drive along the river. Drive leisurely and enjoy the trip.
We found that there was not much other than the mill, but we'd love to be proven wrong.
Founded in 1723, Avoca , pronouced Aboca, even had it's own coinage called Cronbane.

"Downtown Avoca"

Buses of tourists were in force as we departed on this sunny day. Julie and Sherie had fun in the sun while myself and husband Tom made some purchases in the store.
