decisions, decisions... by Rhondaj The Court Hotel sits across the street from Killiney Bay.
If you're always on the look out for free souvenirs of your travels, rock collecting is an idea I offer to you. I've been collecting rocks on my travels for years now. So I was in heaven with the wonderful selection on the shores of Killiney Bay. Another thing to try is trekking up to Bono's house which is about a 20 min. walk north. (anyone can point you in the right direction!) It's well-gated and we did not have a sighting, but the graffiti you get to read along the way is interesting... The Court Hotel by Rhondaj Ask for a room with a view to see the bay. Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. The restaurant had a pub feel to it, complete with a one man musical band on Saturday night. I will never hear Neil Diamond without making this association again. "Sweet Caroline.........."""
This hotel has a small solarium cafe for catching those fleeting rays while admiring the view of the bay. The train station is only a minutes walk away.

by bkathryn In March 1999, we took a little road trip from Dublin north. We went up to have a look at the Giant's Causeway and the Causeway coast. While I don't remember the name of the place we stayed at in Portrush, this was the view. Theme: Bed and BreakfastComparison: about averageAddress: Portrush

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel for a special occasion. The staff are very discrete and professional. 5 star service throughout. Approached by a meandering drive that passes acres of magnificent lawns, the Castle overlooks its own Championship Golf Course and a glistening lake which commands the panoramic beauty of the surrounds. Seamlessly blending Old-World elegance with contemporary luxuries, Dromoland's tradition of delivering impeccable, unobtrusive service is never compromised. Guests can relax under the careful attention of the staff and enjoy an exquisite selection of gourmet foods and wines; unwind slowly in the Castle's sauna, steam room or indoor heated pool; or enjoy a good book beside a crackling evening fire. Situated just 8 miles from Shannon International Airport, Dromoland Castle is the ideal base from which to explore the vibrant cities of Limerick and Galway; the magical Shannon region and Ireland's rugged West Coast.
Dromoland castle is one of Ireland's most famous Baronial Castles dating back to the 16th century. Located on 365 acres of its own Estate with Lake and Woodlands. First opened as a hotel in 1963.With an extraordinary history stretching back to the 5th Century, Dromoland Castle was originally the ancestral home of one of the few families of Gaelic Royalty; direct descendants of Brian Boru, the High King of Ireland. we rented a self catering apartment in Spiddal Village ,just near Galway. These apartments are rented by the week in the high season and we paid 450 for the week for 4 people, much cheaper than B and B and it saves packing and unpacking all the time.
Lovely quiet place off the road, well equipped with microwave, dishwasher, clothes washer ,dryer and Tv. All kitchen amenities. Railway Hostel, Killarney by Jehcekah Cost per person for a private two-person ensuite room: 36 Euro (plus 1 Euro each for towel rental) The hostel itself was very nice. The rooms were clean and they weren't too small. The bathroom was also clean, but the shower did leak all over the room. The room was very cold though and I don't think the heat came on at all, even though we were told it came on every hour. The shared kitchen has space for storing food and for cooking it. The hostel provides dishes and glasses as well. There is no breakfast served, but there is a McDonald's down the road. The employees were very kind and there is a lot of travel information available in the lobby. My one major complaint is that it is next to impossible to find the hostel unless you have a good map of Killarney. The entrance is not on the road, but rather an alley next to The Friary (a church). We tried calling when we reached Killarney, but the man working at the desk couldn't give us very good directions. So we drove around for about an hour trying to find it. This is pretty amazing because Killarney really isn't very big. There are about four parking spaces available for hostel guests. However, if those are full, there is a car park across the street. Parking in the car park is free overnight (after 5:30pm).
