Best way to get to Pescara from Berlin

by Artemis9

We are travelling to Pescara from Berlin in September and are wondering what would be the cheapest way to get there!
Thanx in advance!

1. look at www.bahn.de and see if there are any specials on the Deutsches Bahn for international travel (they often have 29 and 39 euro tickets to other countries). Even if the train doesn't go to Pescara but to somewhere else in Italy, regional train travel in Italy is much cheaper than in Germany, so look at www.trenitalia.com for the last segment in Italy.

2. look at www.whichbudget.com for discount airlines from Berlin to Italy; like the first answer, even if the flight doesn't go to Pescara, you can finish the trip on the Italian rail system...

Look at www.skyscanner.net for carriers and (usually) cheapest fares for your dates.

If you book now or very soon I suspect a flight will cost substantially less than the train, even if you need to take a train onward from the airport.

Ancona, Rome and Perugia are potential near-ish airports....Ancona probably the best in terms of onward train travel.

Find Italian train times, details and fares in English here:

http://trenitalia.it/homepage_en.html

September details won't be loaded yet, but neither times nor fares will change much before then (and probably not at all).

Alternatively, get a bus from Germany to a near-ish Italian town/city and then take the train onward. Look at

Travel Tips for Pescara

Pescara

"Sunset"

In Abruzzo, the place where you can ski and enjoy the sunshine beach at the same time. I was stuck in the traffic as there were some lab tests in the tunnel. Scientists from all over the world is trying to solve a mystery of why there isnt any effect of gravity in this region...

"A walk at the beach"

This is a must. In all four seasons, it brings the same breeze with different intensity. There are pebbles and many different kinds of shells. In all seasons, this beach never fails to amaze me. It just changes with the seasons :)

"Panocchie o cicale"

This is tasty. The meat is sweet and soft. A fine produce from Adriatic Sea. I tried it as one of the 14 course Antipasta in Pescara in a restarant named Ristorante Da Alfredo. Eat until I nearly burst but food was finger-licking good.
