Hotel Ristorante Miramonti: Three star hotel
This is a relatively modern hotel situated some 15/20 minutes drive from Rotonda in the Parco Nazionale del Pollino.
We stayed here just one night because we wanted something within walking distance but this was the only hotel we could find when we arrived.
The bar area and restaurant was in our view cold and clinical. It had no soul and was characterless. They would appear to cater for 'package' holiday makers and have business and conference facilities.
Staff were polite but not particularly friendly, just 'got on with their job'
Overall we were not impressed and would not go again.
We did find the Hotel Sirio the next day and were really pleased, it was different again (see separate entry)

Hotel Sirio, Rotonda, Parco Nazionale Del Pollino: Recommended
Comfortable room with balcony.
Excellent central but quiet location, few minutes from central square.
Free parking bays outside the front of hotel in a quiet street.
Helful and friendly staff.
Typical Italian breakfast.
Only complaint we had was there was no heating on (end April) and it was quite cold. Extra blankets were however provided.

B and B Cottage Val d'Agri: Recommended
We 'discovered' this when we stayed at Michele's accomodation in Pisa and he mentioned his family's B and B in Tramutola. There is a wealth of information and lots of photographs about both accomodation and the area on his web site so I will not go into detail.
Our room was comfortable and cosy with lovely views. Very good breakfast was served by Michele's mum Maria in the beautiful and homely dining room which had a large open fire.
Maria is a lovely lady and couldnt do enough for us. Michele was there for a couple of days during our stay. He took us on a tour of the area when we first arrived. He was also incredibly helpful when we had a puncture, changed the wheel and arranged for local garage to repair it and took us there, even though he had 8 hour drive back to Pisa the same day.
I would definitely recommend this B and B.
Superb location, peaceful and lovely people.
Unique Quality: Car is essential. Secure parking within the garden.
Excellent base to explore the area, including day trips to the coast.
15 minutes walk into Tramutola town.
Short walk to Water Park.
