great location, hotel and staff
Stayed here 8 days and just returned on June 27th to the States. This is by far the best hotel from the Amalfi Coast to Sicily-Great location and the Port area nearby has three wonderful restaurants. Not much night life but just a sensational area and the people are all helpful and family oriented..I highly recommend Maratea and this hotel

Maratea and santavenere hotel
I was hoping that someone would place some info on Maratea but nothing yet. Also I looked up Hotel Santavenere and the rates that come up show $1,500-$3,000 per night???Can this be true??Any help is appreciated--Thanks-Gene

Gene, I had to see a hotel that charged $1,500 to $3,000 a night...but, alas, it seems that the rates - while expensive - are not nearly that high.
I looked at their website - http://www.hotelsantavenere.eu/html/info/index.htm - and clicked on "Listino prezzi" on the lower right (sorry, this is the Italian side, but the English link wasn't working for me).
I see prices that range from 150 euro to 950 euro depending on the size of the room, the season, and whether you are facing the sea or the park...where did you find these other prices?

Hi Bill-Nice to hear from you again. I am thinking next June as this August. we are going to Torino and Stresa- The hotel looks beautiful and the rates came up on Trip Advisor as I was searching. I am going to take your advice again and look at the site you gave me and hopefully I can come up with something decent on rates. Many many thanks--Regards-Gene
