hotel relais mareca CAPRI ITALI

by redrum562

Hi
Can anyone please tell me regarding Hotel Relais Mareca how much half board costs per week, what the food is like and is dinner a buffet? Also do they offer an airport shuttle and if so, the cost.
Thankyou

Their website lists half board as lunch at 35 euro per person, per day (click "customize your stay" under "prices" ). I haven't stayed there so have no information on dinner, nor do they list a menu but you may not want to be eating all of your meals at the hotel - especially if you end up arranging all of your lunches here. There are other places to dine on the island - you'll want to try a few!

They do not mention an airport shuttle but assuming you're coming into Naples, they have a concierge service that can arrange your boat to the island - for a price, I'm sure. As money talks, arranging car service from airport to dock might also be arranged - for a price. Otherwise, take a cab to the docks to catch the boat.

They have an e-mail address under "concierge" where you can address your questions - this is probably the best way to get a clear answer on the shuttle/cost issue.

Travel Tips for Capri

The end of Krupp - Marina Piccola

by iandsmith

After walking the vertical cliffs of the Via Krupp and getting an eyeful of the Faraglioni I thought anything else would be in second place but I hadn't counted on Marina Piccola (small marina).
It's located on the opposite side of the island to Marina Grande and is certainly aptly named as no large boats will ever venture here.
When I was there it had a quiet charm though I can well imagine that in summer that "quiet" would be virutally non existent. When we arrived as part of the Via Krupp walk I was in a bit of a hurry so I caught the bus back up to Capri and met up with Rosemarie, ultimately convincing here this walk was worthwhile.
And, as luck would have it, she enjoyed it as much as me. Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery, good company; sometimes it all turns out right!
Set in the cliffs behind the sea is a massive grotto (pic 2), one on many on the island. For some time I couldn't take my eyes off it, so intriguing were the shapes. Apparently, so I learnt later, it is accessible but only by abseiling.

Walk the West Coast

by EricS01

For a beautiful coastal walk, take the bus from Anacapri to Punta Carena. From there, you have a gorgeous 2 hour walk along the cliffs to the Blue Grotto. You pass several old (very small) forts on the way. We did this last April and passed no-one for the full length of the walk. It was as if the thousands of tourists had just disappeared and we had the island all to ourselves.

Local Bus

by ECYM

Buses that serve major routes cost Euro 1 per trip per pax. Usually packed for the route from Capri to Anacapri. You can catch a glimpse of the scenary along the way if you are not too distracted by the fast speed and steep cliffs along the way :P

Tour around the island

by Grootpiet

I took a boat tour with Laser Capri around the island for 9 € , which lasted for 1 hr and 45 mins., including a stop at the Blue Grotto.

If you stop arrive at the Marina Grande, the company's ticket window is on the corner of the second set of shops, to the left of the funiculaire (website below).

View From Lookout

by Mikebb

All over the Isle there are lookouts or places to view the magnificent ocean and island scenery. The best way to appreciate Capri is to walk along some of the many paths , enjoy the ocean views, the sheer cliff faces, the ocean and marina, the subtropical gardens and the villas scattered over the island, all perfectly situated to take advantage of the beautiful view.
