Do they have timetables in Italy?

If so, why?

Here you go:

http://www.sitabus.it/sitabus/campania/orarioCA2007/Amalfi-Agerola.pdf

If it doesn't work (being a pdf), go to:

http://www.sitabus.it/wps/portal/OrariCampania

and scroll to the 'Quadro 13 Amalfi - Agerola - Gragnano - Castellammare - Napoli link.

In addition to the excellent info youve already received I found all the bus routes along the Amalfi Coast conveniently frequent.

If you are coming from the Naples airport its helpful to know that there is a direct bus from the airport down to PositanoI(or viceversa) for only 7 euro (or 7.50euro) and then from Positano you can go to Capri or catch one of frequent buses that go on down the Amalfi Coast to Amalfi.

Stunning stunning coastline and area!dont miss Ravello and i highly recommend not to miss spending some walking around the streets of Amalfi town centre - not just the road along the beach!
(check out my tips on my pages if youd like!!)

all the best!

Sorry I meant Sorrento where ive writtten Positano - from Sorrento and vice versa theres a bus to Naples airport which is very convenient and then from Sorrento there are frequent and very cheap buses down to Positano and on further along the Amalfi Coast. from Naples there is also a bus that goes to Agerola-San Lazzaro up in the mountains just above Amalfi - i have a tip on the hostel i stayed at there instead of paying 4 times the price down at Amalfi.

Naples to Amalfi -- how much time does the bus take?
What is the cost per person?
whats is the distance between Amalfi and Revello?

You won't get the bus from Naples.

Get the Circumvesuviana train from Napoli Centrale to Sorrento, then the bus from Sorrento.

Circumvesuviana train timetable here:

http://www.vesuviana.it/Reteeorari/Ferrovia/Orario

Linea Napoli Sorrento

Journey time from Naples around an hour.

Bus timetable from Sorrento to Amalfi here (Quadro 15: Amalfi-Positano-Sorrento):

http://www.sitabus.it/wps/portal/OrariCampania

Also bus timetable from amalfi to Sorrento on same link.

Cost won't be much: can't remember exactly, maybe 4 euros one-way for the Sorrento>Amalfi bus, maybe 6 for the train?

Travel Tips for Naples

off the beaten

Ostuni, also known as the White City, reminded me like I've entered Greece.
Found out later Naples was discovered by Greek refugees in 600 BC and their name derives from the Greek Neapolis meaning 'new city'.
The buildings are white and the town brags it has the best unspoiled coastline. Fishing for sea urchin is one of the great past times we did!

Castel Capuano

by ruki

Castel Capuano is a castle in Naples, southern Italy. It takes its name from the fact that it was at that point in the city walls where the road led out to the city of Capua. The castle is at the east end of via dei Tribunali and until recently housed the Naples Hall of Justice, which has now moved to the new Civic Center, the Centro Direzionale

Pizza & Neapolitan Cuisine in Santa Lucia

by MM212 about Trattoria da Ettore

Located on via Santa Lucia, near Piazza Plebiscito and Castel dell'Ovo, Trattoria da Ettore serves authentic Neapolitan cuisine including delicious pizzas. The relatively small restaurant has outdoor seating for better weather. This is a great place for lunch when visiting Plebiscito area and Castel dell'Uovo, or come here for dinner. You won't be disappointed.

Central Square

by Beograd

This is a central square, I am only sorry that I didn't have the official guide to explane everything. Across this unique building that reminded me of the White House is the Opera House.

As you, probably, can see in the back are a few buildings painted in dark red and gray. Those are colors of Naples.

VESUVIUS

Vesuvius is the only active volcano in continental Europe. From the top you have a amazing view of hole Naples. If you are plannig to climb on this volcano I must to disappointed you because it not possible to climb afoot, only by buses or jeeps. The last 200 meteres you will able to climb right on the top.
It have shape like bowl with big and deep hole in the middle. The volcano looks like volcanos in some movie. On some parts of the whelps you can see smoke.
In the it’s far history this volcano had abolished towns such as Pompei and Herculaneum.
After the last eruption in 1944, a vast crater was formed at the peak, covered with ash, and the plume of smoke which had become part of the classic imagery of Vesuvius disappeared.
If you are in Naples dont miss to visit Vesuvius.
