If you would like a general photo of Naples,

Go to the sea terminal, put your back to it and line up a snap like this one.
I really enjoyed that Naples-- seems to be such a lay back kind of place........Sure you have the traffic and the hordes of people but it seems to me to be a lot more sedate than Rome. That was my impression anyway. I haven't really seen enough to have that kind of attachment, but I am prepared to get one when I next visit.
Packing List

Agropoli is a small town and the men are real charmers. Some might say 'players', so ladies watch out! It may be no big thing to wear cut off jeans and tiny crop tops in Florida but here you're asking for perhaps a bit too much attention. If you can handle it then go ahead!
Use common sense, though, especially if you want to mingle with the locals, practice your Italian and make friends. Fashionable clothing, or just plain dress casual attire that is neat and clean, will go alot further than dirty jeans and baggy t-shirts.
I speak from experience, especially as I was visiting family! Bring comfortable shoes and don't forget your sandals!
Moped, Scooters, Vespas or whatever

...you want to call them are one of the most popular means of transportation in Naples. I have never before or since so many riders in one city. You must be really attentive when walking around because they are everywhere. I'm not kidding.
The sixteen picture shot I took encompasses about 7 seconds of time, but captures a rider passing me on the left and then swerving in front of me to pass a car on the right side.
Pio Monte della Misericordia

Just to the east of Via Duomo, this octagonal church, with a very grubby exterior, houses the extraordinary Caravaggio altarpeice, the "Seven Acts of Mercy". This may well be Naples' single most important work of art; however, Caravaggio's "Flagellation of Christ" in the Capodimonte Museum, to my mind, completely outshines it. Still, worth a visit. Free.
Monday - Saturday 09.30 - 12.30. Strictly no photographs.
Can be visited before the Capello Sansevero, as it is in the vicinity.
Vesuvius, you can't get away from it.

Everywhere you go in Naples and Sorrento Vesuvius just sits there a brooding presence, dominating the entire area. It may look benign now but that is only temporary, one day it will erupt again and we all know the consequences of such an event.
So there it sits we might as well go to the top and check out the sleeping giant.
A good half day trip with Herculaneum for the rest of the day. They are both served by the same station.
We took a trip from the tourist office in the square in front of the station but I believe buses are also possible. As ever I caution against taxis.
The walk to the top is fairly steep, and not for the infirm, but anyone in reasonable health should cope. It took around 2 hours from where you are dropped.
We were blessed with low cloud so views were restricted but nevertheless enjoyed the trip.
