Located in the old city...

That is for sure a budget hotel. For 40E/nigh, you just get your own room and bathroom located in the heart of the old city. Nothing more, nothing less.

The confirmation was claiming breakfast was included but I'm still waiting to see any kind of breakfast! Another perk was unlimited Internet access! Well, true, there was some network connectivity but it was so slow that it was barely usable!!

Other than that, it was not too bad, the room (single) was tiny but clean and pretty well furnished. The bed could have been more comfortable though.
The bathroom was ok even if the shower was quite narrow and I often had to fight with the curtain!!

The view was on an inside court. All in all it was quite an advantage since you were not annoyed by the street noise!
...however that leaves plenty of room to be annoyed by the inside noise, sound insulation was rather bad! Better foresee some earplugs!!

The clerks at the reception were quite friendly and helpful (and were speaking English!)

Getting in or out of the hotel was quite an adventure though. From the street, if not for the sign, you couldn't guess there is an hotel in there. You first have to get through a gate into an inner passage. The hotel is then located on the 4th floor of one of the buildings. To get out, you'll have to find the right switches to open the gate and the door! Not something obvious the first time!

Great Little Hotel

Stayed at Hotel Europeo for 4 days in October 2006. The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable, and were cleaned daily. The reception staff could not have been more helpful, suggesting locations for food and drink. There are not a lot of small food outlets nearby with good cheap snacks. The central station is a 10 minute walk away, and metro lines also nearby, so the location is great for exploring this crazy city.

For the price charged, the Hotel Europeo is great deal, and would happilly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a very good no frills hotel.

Great comfortable hotel in the historical center

We spent there 5 nights...in three different rooms...each time nicer than the previous one! The last one was the best (one ot the three "europeo flowers" rooms) with new yellow walls, great decoration, air conditionning...
The location of the hotel is perfect : quite safe neighborhood in the heart of the historical center...near the famous decumanus (one of the famous street that cuts the city in two part and correspond to the old roman structure). It is quiet, clean, with TV, towels, soaps, etc....it is only one star hotel but deserves much more! We paid 60 euros for the first night (a room with a smaller bed) and then 70 for all the other)...but after a long search on the internet, we could not find a better price for this quality. For two persons it is affordable if you compare to most of all pensions/dormitory places where you already pay 20 euros per person...in neighborhoods that are not really nice...
