by cam_t

Hi,
Can anyone give me an idea of the price of a taxi from the airport to the central train station?
Thanks
Cam

The airport is far from the central station 8 Km. There should be a fix price of about 15 euro.

The Naples airport site is very good and if you click on:

http://www.portal.gesac.it/portal/page/portal/internet/inAEROPORTO/Trasporti/Taxi

and follow the link at the bottom of the page it will give you the tariffs to more or less everywhere within Naples. As I translate it it is €12.50 from the airport to the station. May be the odd extra for luggage and what have you.

Travel Tips for Naples

I can higly reccommend a visit...

by xaver

I can higly reccommend a visit to Gesù Nuovo church, it's not the most popular, but, in my opinion, it is the most particular and amazing.
There you can find the grave of Saint Giuseppe Moscato a doctor, that dedicated his life to help sick people. During the second world war the church has been bombed and still now they conserve a part of the bomb felt in front of the Saint grave without exploding.

Football culture

by maybetara

Every different country/culture has its own way of playing football - the English are aggressive, the Germans are methodical, the Spanish are stylish and imaginative (scoring some of the most ridiculous and incredible goals seen on the face of the earth), the Koreans are great teamworkers, and the Italians, surprisingly are super defensive! In my country, where the English premier league, Spanish league and the European Cup are the most watched football seasons, the Italian Serie A and serie B sometimes elicit groans from football fans alkong the lines of..."i wish they'd get on with it..." For all their aggression and pro-activeness on the roads, in banks, in post offices etc, Italian footballers sometimes play with what seem to be leaden feet. This is not so obvious during inter-country matches such as in the Euro cup, world cup etc, when the difference in two teams' cultures and playing styles often brings out the best of both teams and creates a tension that makes the game more unpredictable and exciting. But watching two italian teams play against each other such as the recent Juventus-I.Milan match in Manchester England can sometimes really induce sleep.

the soul of napoli

by iconechinoise about La campagnola

La campagnola is hidden in the spaccanapoli, the most popular place in the city. At first look, it seems to be a grocer's but the restaurant (5 or 6 small tables) is hidden behind. There, giovani seats at your table and describes you the different dish, all depend of the market in the morning. here we are talking about the real italian food and it's really a place to eat in naples. i can't imagine eat somewhere else when i visit naples. pasta with mussel, garlic and tomato, something really simple but with an amazing taste.

Cruise Boats & Ferries

by Mikebb

Naples has been a great port for thousands of years and still remains a busy port well worth visiting for an hour or so. There will always be a number of beautiful cruise boats, also ferries which work the Isle of Capri and other locations up and down the coast. Have a coffee at one of the cafes and absorb the activity, it is an enjoyable way to pass an hour.

Spaccanapoli

by Polly74

Spaccanapoli is the way a specific road in the centre of Naples is called (it literally means Split Naples). This beacuse it splits the city into two parts. SpaccaNapoli is a long straight road, or several roads about 2 km long and just 6 meters wide. On both sides a tightly-packed labyrinth of narrow, charming alleys spreads out. This is the old, working-class, full-blooded Naples. Walking along the SpaccaNapoli, it is possible to follow an itinerary in one of the most characteristic areas of Naples, that corresponds to the “Decumano inferiore” of the Greek-Roman city, with churches, historical buildings, squares and old tiny craftsmen’s shops and laboratories.
