Visit the archaeological site...
by SANVAN
Visit the archaeological site of Pompeii and the flower island of Capri. Their University was so much more beautiful than ours and it was difficult to adjust to it again once I was back. Things I missed were the ice cream, ice coffee and the beautiful view from by bedroom window.
Spaccanapoli and the Back Streets of Naples
by deebum25
This is actually where you want to be. After you see the Palazzo Reale wander off into Spaccanapoli to see how the real Neapolitans live. It's like a wonderful bazaar of people, restaurants and services. We spent most of our time wandering here.
Best pizza in Napoli?
by FinElina about Il pizzaiolo del Presidente
My Italian friends adviced me to go to this particular pizzeria. The place is not that big (anyway there're places both upstairs and downstairs) but service is fast and prices cheap. It was fun to watch the cooks making the pizza, a way to learn how they do it in Italy :) In Napoli you have to eat pizza Margherita as it's the first original pizza, "discovered" or invented in Napoli. The pizzas in this restaurant had quite a lot of oil on them, but at least I didn't mind..
Royal Palace:
by mvtouring
The Royal Palace is located in Piazza Plebiscito and they are open Mon-Sat, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; Sun & holidays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. We discovered it whilst just walking around and investigating the place making up time before our ship departed again. The magnificently decorated halls and rooms contain the original Bourbon furniture, paintings, statues and porcelain. The Palace also houses the National Library which has several collections, including approximately 2,000 papyri uncovered at Herculaneum.
Take a drive along the Amalfi...
by lainew
Take a drive along the Amalfi coast by public bus. Try and sit behind the driver and witness the tight corners and narrow passages. It's perfectly safe (I think!) There are some marvellous cliff-top towns to stop off and visit.
