Head out to Pompei for a night of lights
by sargentjeff
If you are in Naples at the right time you will be able to visit Pompei when they light the ruins at night. It's a fantastic way to visit Pompei for the second time. I recommend visiting during the day first to explore the city fully.
Shopping for Women's Fashion in Naples
by sargentjeff about PROMOD
My wife loves this store, and in fact is one of the few stores she will buy clothes at. I like it because, first of all, it makes her happy, and secondly because the prices are pretty reasonable.

Monday : from 9am to 9pm
Tuesday : from 9am to 9pm
Wednesday : from 9am to 9pm
Thursday : from 9am to 9pm
Friday : from 9am to 9pm
Saturday : from 9am to 9pm Jeans about 30-50 Euro
Sweaters about 40 Euro
Skirts about 30-50 Euro
Leather Boots 100 Euro
You can check out their stuff on their website. This is not an endorsement, merely a tip for the shopping weary traveler.
PROMOD is from Spain, and like Zara, has fair prices, which compete quite well with other German and Italian stores.
Gambrinus
by xaver
Take a coffe in Gambrinus, in Plebiscito square, it is not a real restaurant, but it is the most elegant coffe in the city, and I must admitt that their coffe is excellent.
Yes coffes are not all the same, they can really taste different even in the same bar, depending on the hand making them, a good water, anyway helps a lot to get a good coffe.
Museo Archeologico Nazionale (MANN)

A visit to the museum is a must, but you could be disappointed by the low temperature of the large rooms (in winter), the poor light in some areas (I recently visited the prehistoric section lit only by emergency lights and with most of the show windows without lights) and the mess all around, sometimes among the masterpieces as well.
But apart from that the museum stores statues from the Farnese collection, mosaics, coins and the extraordinary finds from Pompeii (with a complete reconstruction of the Papyrus House) and the other cities buried by Vesuvius in 79 a.D.
The so called "secret cabinet" shows erotic paintings and sculptures found mostly in Pompeii and can be visited by adults by reservation to be made at the entrance.
There is also an interesting Egyptian section.
Open daily: 9:00 am - 19:30 pm (entry actually allowed 19:00 p.m.)
Closed: Tuesday
Entrance fee: Euro 9
Castel dell'ovo

A large fortress from the 12th century that is a dominant presence on the Naples seafront. It was a royal residence for many centuries, and played an important strategic role.
This fortress is now used for exibitions and expositions. When we were here there was an interesting exibition about coffee (yuhmmm...what a perfume!!!)
