When the stress of Naples is enough, you can take a boat to the least visited of the islands and the nearest one, Procida. It still retains a charm of the old village, remote island where things go much slowly, the sea is nice and clean...
Eat in one of the restaurants in the harbour, go swimming, visit the ancient abbey or just stroll around...
The boats depart almost every hour in the morning and you have several returns in the evening, with different companies.

I happened to find this very friendly restaurant where, on some occasions, you even share the table with other people. I also had a great time chatting with the owner who was talking about very funny things. It was like having lunch at home.

On Sundays the police close off the street to cars making for a pedestrian only road. Family's ride bicycles, roller bladding, horse-drawn buggy's, motorized big wheels abound. The Sunday I was here it was simply beautiful weather, sunny no clouds, not too hot.

The fountain La Fontana dell'Immacolatella, made of white and gray marble, was built by Michelangelo Naccherino and Pietro Bernini in 1601. It is adorned with coats of arms and eagles, and the central coat of arms is upheld by two angels.
