I will be in Napoli from May 22 2008 until May 27... I want to know if I can go there by ferry from Napoli, eventualy first to Sorrento and then from there to Paestum?
You can go by hydrofoil to Sorrento from Naples, but I'am afraid it will be rather difficult to get to Paestum from Sorrento. Much better to go to Salerno either by train or bus and from Salerno heading towards Paestum by bus.

The museum near the ruins houses a magnificent collection of frescoes recovered from burial tombs, that also attest how the greek culture of the city was influenced by the Etruscan beliefs. It also houses the finds from the site of Paestum. If you want the audioguide for the visit of the ruins, you should also go to the museum.
But there are more temples in Paestum! Unfortunately these were under restoration, so I couldn't see them in there full beauty. But even like this they were so impressive!
This is a picture of the the Temple of Hera II, sometimes called the Temple of Neptune or the Temple of Poseidon. It is an archaic Doric temple in the ancient city of Paestum. It is one of the best preserved Greek temples in the world. The temple is the last of the great temples of Poseidonia, constructed c. 470-460 BCE within the sanctuary of Hera, just besides the older Temple of Hera I.
The museum at Paestum shares the opening hours with the archaeological site. It is spread over three floors (the first floor was closed when I visited in April 2006) and includes great artifacts taken from the site. Lots of statues, vases, tools and busts were rescued during excavations.
Paestum was the only center where the vase painters sometimes signed their wares with the exception of the apulian decorator lasimos. The signature is often painted, and sometimes it is scratched onto the surface of the vase. That is why they Know the name of 2 craftsmen: Assteas and Python
