Healthy way to beaches
by ubiq
Beaches are not the main attraction of Positano. The are only two beaches and they are not so recommendable.
The eastern one is based on the village centre. Its day price is quite high and it has extremely hot stones instead of sand, so sandals are quite handy there. The beach is not very large and it is very crowded.
The western one is more enjoyable and less crowded, because the walking, or actually climbing, there and back is quite laborious.
The basci thumb rule with accommodation and beaches are, the cheaper place the more difficult to get to the beaches. However, the western part is generally cheaper - due to longer distance to village centre.
Degli Dei Views II
by sandysmith
Along the Sentiero Degli Dei pathwway to Positano way we passed some unusual rock formations - almost a western looking scene I thought. At times the path was rather overgrown - vegeation grows quick in the warm weather - but we never felt in danger of not seeing the path clearly enough and there was no risk of falling off the cliff face.
Best Views of Positano
by sandysmith
The best views of Positano in my humble opinion is the view of Positano as you come dowm these steps from the village of Montepertuso - it was well worth the hike on the Degli Dei just to get these views. They really were off the beaten track too as we only met one other couple during the hike and they were coming from Positano to Praiano - a deviation of the hike that can be done.
Da Vincenzo

Good price / quality
We ate several times at Da Vincenzo and actually it came to our loyalty restaurant. Da Vincenzo makes traditional South Italian kitchen chili savvy and many portions are based to seafood. The menu it quite huge; we preferred chili foods, like pasta arrabbiata, or clams and spicy tagliatelle. The owner jokes most of the times with customers, and althought the place is quite touristy, you can eat very well and enjoy of the italian atmosphrere. The tables outside are quite romantic in the evening, althought that they are more on the road than pavement. Also outdoor tables are more comportable with the sea breeze than inside, where can be quite hot. South italian chili and seafood pastas
Gorgeous view with delicious food
by HELEN about Caffe Positano
The restaurant is at the top of the hill overlooking the the beautiful town and the beach. There's seating inside as well as out side, but there's nothing better than enjoying a delicious meal while looking over a gorgeous view of Positano. Caffe Positano was recommended to us by our hotel owner. The menu has a lot of variety. Prosciutto and Mellon melts in your mouth, and Spaghetti with Clams was very good. Their homemade tiramisu was to die for. They even ran out of it towards the end of the night.
