whats it like, is there any cheap accommodation?
I've been in Praiano and it's beautiful, not as touristy as Positano and cheaper. We stayed in the Hotel Continental in 2000 prices where appr. 70Euro for a double room. They also had a small campground (only for tents) sort of hanging in the cliffs.

Yes, highly recommended, good choice to go there, we did not stay in a hotel but in a pension in a three bed room for 60 Euro a night, cheap enough...? If you pass the hotel area it is on your right if you are going towards Amalfi just for a sharp right curve. Busses are easy to take to Amalfi. Can't remember the name sorry...
The cave is called "emerald", because the sun light comes in, throught a tunnel under the water (the tunnel connects the cave to the open sea), it makes the emerald colour.
You can reach to the "Grotta dello Smeraldo" by car or bus and also by boat. From La Praia or from Amalfi's harbour many boats go to and for the cave, each hour

Praiano is a small town in the heart of the Amalfi Coast about halfway between Positano and Amalfi.
What I liked about Praiano is that hotels are a lot cheaper than most of the places at the Amalfi Coast. And if you go into the town center it's not touristy at all.
