It depends!
Depending on what time of the year but a thin, light coat needs only a little space in your luggage. It is ideal for evening outings especially at the seasides. For first aide is a must. Just in case! A must!

Howdy all,
I need to get from praiano to Roma Fiumicino airport for a 1600 departure. I think the easiest/economical way to do this is train from Salerno at 0942 on the same morning. Can anyone help with ideas/prices of Praino to Salerno at 0800 time of the morning? Thanks.
The website for buses in this area is http://www.sita-on-line.it/homecampania.htm (this is in Italian). After a quick look, it seems that you'll have to take a bus to Amalfi, and change buses there for Salerno.
I assume you are staying in a hotel; why don't you ask them? In fact, I saw a number of websites for hotels describing how to use the buses to get to them; maybe your hotel does, too...

as above, and sit on the right side of the bus not the left. The change in Amalfi is very easy, as the bus station is a small building near the waterfront.

Praiano lies between Amalfi and Positano. It was once the summer residence of the Dogi of the Amalfi Republic.
It it is now a popular seaside resort with hotels and camping facilities.
But it seemed to me more as a fishing village yet - as it used to be in the past . Calm and quiet and far away from the crowds of tourists you find in Positano or Amalfi ( both beautiful places, as well ).
Praiano occupies that part of the Amalfi Coast between Positano and Conca dei Marini, on both sides of the promontory of Capo Sottile (Thin Cape).
The town of Praiano is on the easterly side of the cape, with the most amazing view over Conca dei Marini. The name is derived from the latin Pelagianum (open sea) who changed in the Middle Ages to Plagianum and finally to Praiano.
On the other side of Capo Sottile, with wonderful view over Positano and the whole final part of the peninsula up to the isle of Capri, there is Vettica Maggiore, today a part of Praiano, but in the past an autonomous village.
