Wedding Bliss - Loved this hotel!!

by A TripAdvisor Member

We cannot say enough about how wonderful this hotel and the staff are! My husband and I found the hotel online when we were looking at places to get married and honeymoon. We communicated via email with the staff to arrange all of the details from transportation to the reception..it was great, they were so responsive.

The views are even more breathtaking than what is shown on their website. I would agree with other reviewers though that your experience is dependent on the room you get, ask for one with a sea view.. it's worth the extra money!

The family that runs the hotel is just wonderful, they made us feel so comfortable and special during our stay there..we felt like we were part of the family. The rooms were clean and the cleaning crew was very nice. The food at the restaraunt was amazing also. The hotel goes out of their way to provide the best level of service and pays attention to all details. They arranged for most of our excursions and even a really special trip to watch the filiming of a documentary about the local fishermen of the village and how they catch fish. It was an amazing experience to get closer to the local people of the quaint town of Praiano.

This is the best hotel we have ever stayed at and highly recommend the hotel!

Fanstastic and Friendly!

Having travelled extensively I have experienced the best and worst of hotels. This one ranks amongst the best. Perhaps as I was travelling on my own the staff made an extra effort but the level of service and assistance was fantastic. This is a family run hotel and it shows - you were made to feel extremely welcome and wanted as a guest - not a common occurence. The meals were excellent too. Am looking forward to my next visit.

Friendliest Service In Italy...

by TripAdvisor Member SRR

Our family of four stayed at this hotel last June. We were able to get a room to accomodate all four of us (difficult to find in Europe...) The accomodations were sufficient. The extra bedroom for the kids was tight and so was their washroom, but we made do. The views from our balcony of the sea were beautiful. My favorite part was having breakfast every morning on the terrace overlooking the coastline. I could have sat there all day! The family running the hotel were wonderful to us. We ran into some difficulty with our car rental and they were most accomodating. It was as though they were our family! My daughter left a bracelet behind, and they sent it home to us in Canada! We didn't even realize we left it behind til it arrived in the mail! Not everyone would bother! They even gave us a thoughtful gift at the end of our stay. My daughter played the piano in the restaurant and the head waiter told her she could play anytime-even for the guests if she liked! A very warm and friendly atmosphere here, if that's what you're looking for!

The perfect place to stay on the Amalfi coast

by TripAdvisor Member mariacaterina

What a gem the little town of Praiano is! Between Positano and Amalfi, and not nearly as congested. Be prepared for hair-raising drives along the coast road, but well worth it. Tramonto d'Oro is well maintained, the rooms are spacious, and the view simply can't be beat. We had dinner at the restaurant one night, and the food and service were superb.

A pearl

by A TripAdvisor Member

The small village of Praiano is already a gem with few hotels and restaurants but spectacular views *** of the Amalfi Coast. The Tramonto d'Oro is a pearl of an hotel in Praiano. Nice, clean and vast rooms, some with balconies and tidy bath rooms. The staff is attentive, helpful and very friendly. Breakfast is honest and the sea is never far from the eye. I will tone it down from 5* to 4½* because of the poor drainage system in the bathroom as well as the rough towels. Everything elese was great, including the reasonable prices they have to maintain.

Probably the best hotel in the world!

by A TripAdvisor Member

Having spent 6 months travelling the world my friend and I wanted to end our travels relaxing. The hotel was booked for us at the tourist information office at Rome train station. The man there promised us it was the best place ever and he was not wrong!

Rooms - we actually had one of the lower rooms and so had no view. That didn't really bother us as you only need to go up to the pool area to see it. The room itself was clean, spacious and well decorated!

Pool area- Amazing! On top of the hotel so the most breathtaking views, especially at sunset! Lots of deckchairs. Attentive waiters.

Food - Only ate in hotel a couple of times but very nice. Owners and their family also eat in the restaurant. they come around all the tables and chat with the guests! They make you feel really at home.

Restaurants - The restaurant across the road is the best!! Such friendly staff (especially the older guy - would wave to us whilst sunbathing!).

Staff - Just so friendly! Couldn't do enough for us!

Location - praiano is very quiet. Just a couple of bars and restaurants. Which is great for relaxing in the day. It is close to Positano which has lots of bars and restaurants. The hotel staff happily arrange taxis for you.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday.

We are a family of five; and, because, we are also Airline employees, we have travelled all over the world. A few years ago, we discovered Hotel Tramonto d'Oro, a hidden jewel in the town of Praiano. Each year we visist our family in Italy and keep returning to Hotel Tramonto d'Oro at the beginning of our stay. The warmth of the Esposito Family, especially Mama and Carmella, the helpful staff at the desk, the breathtaking view from our balcony overlooking the Sea, the exceptional food served at the Hotel by the most friendly staff we have experienced, the convenience of the roof-top pool and nearby beaches, and the proximity of being close to all the popular towns and points of interest along the Amalfi Coast, compel us to return each year adding a day or more to the end of our stay. This year we are planning to stay for nine days with other members of our family, who have never been to Hotel Tramonto d'Oro, so we can share and enjoy with them the beauty of this "Hidden Jewel".
Love to all and can't wait to see all of you soon.

Fabulous stay (from Captain MSH)

Trip Advisor:
As an International Airline Captain, my wife and I have never been treated better than we were from Owner Mama Theresa Esposito, her family, and staff at Hotel Tramonto D'Oro. The entire staff pampered us, provided excellent service and served us 5 Star cuisine at their top notch ristorante and fabulous hotel establishment. They will even help you with your Italian!

The hotel's restaurant with the cuisine served up by Pasquale, Guiseppe, and staff is excellent, along with the fabulous views of the Amalfi Coast. The sunset is absolutely the best on the coast and much much better from this hotel's location than from Positano (a few kms away), which is viewable in its entirety from the rooms and restaurant in the "Golden Sunset" hotel. The location is perfect and easy to get to and from other locations on the Amalfi Coast. However, best of all was the continual attempts by staff to please their guests.

The hotel was well kept with all amenities available including a wonderful pool with view of the ocean and guests' needs were easily met. We highly recommend Hotel Tramonto D'Oro to any traveler who wants a hotel with great staff, in a wonderful location, with great accommodations, and great value. We were so pleasantly surprised at our fabulous stay and will return.

We offer our gratefulness for a wonderful stay in the heart of the Amalfi Coast and sincere appreciation for the continued 53 years of excellent family service to their guests.
We will return.

Loved the baeutiful Tramonto D'oro

by A TripAdvisor Member

A beautiful and homely place, nicely located halfway between Positano and Amalfi, with wondserful views and a very warm and friendly atmosphere. The place was very very clean, the rooms large and airy and the staff very corteous and friendly. The breakfrast service as well as the two dinners we ate there were excellent, and the icing on the cake was the presence of Mrs. Esposito and her daughter who looked after us like we were old friends. Definately recommend the place and will be going back.
