Coral Jewelry

by patriciatemple

i purchased cameo earring and pendants which have been stolen. They were purchased at Camo Gallery in Ravello. Any chance of repurchasing?

You need to contact the place where you bought it (this is a travel Forum)
Does this sound like the place -it has contact details -

Here's the website:

http://www.museodelcorallo.com/home.asp

with online shopping and contact details. Mostly in Italian but easy enough to work out, imo.

Correction: their online shopping is 'in preparation'. It will be available 'soon'.

Send them an email...they may have a catalogue they can post to you.

Travel Tips for Ravello

Ravello

by sandysmith

A winding road from Amalfi ascends seven kilometres up the "Dragon's Valley" to the hill town of Ravello. It is located on the small escarpment of Monte Lattari and overlooks the coast south towards the Gulf of Salerno, and the town of Amalfi directly below. The wonderful sunny climate! Boccaccio, D. H. Lawrence and Wagner are among the "greats" who succumbed to the spell of Ravello. Wagner partly composed his opera "Parsifal" here, and today author Gore Vidal lives and derives inspiration from this charming town.

Belvedere View

by sandysmith

The Belvedere della Principessa di Piemonte, has a stunning view - in clear weather - of the whole gulf of Salerno.
Truly a lovely spot with the gardens in the forefront - an ideal place to rest your legs a while whilst admiring the view.

Stay in a quiet vineyard

by rbiernac

While we enjoyed concerts in busy Ravello, we had an enchanting more fragrant stay next door in the authentically restored farmhouse at Monte di Grazia in Tramonti. My wife and I, Californians interested in wine, visited for two days in the Spring and plan to return for an extended stay. The rates are less than half that of any hotel, and the accomodations include a room-size balcony, gourmet just-restored kitchen, wood-beamed bedroom and ancient arched-dining room. It is located in a vineyard above a wine-making cellar. To attend concerts in Ravello, we found a quick scenic road that bypasses the commotion along the coast. See www.montedigrazia.it . We found it fascinating to watch the winemaking process by day and then listen to music in Ravello at night.

Villa Rufolo

by Cristian_Uluru

The beautiful Villa Rufolo was built in a wonderful position over the gulf in the 13th century. It is the most important villa of Ravello, the owner (Landolfo Rufolo) is remembered in the The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio. In 1851 it was owned by the Scottish Francis Neville Reid who restored it and created the romantic gardens.

Villa Cimbrone

by guell

We visited Villa Cimbrone for the views from the Terrace of Infinity and for its beautiful gardens. Having not seen any guides, we purchased a small self-guided tour book of the 11th century property for about $3.00 and wandered through the property.

The estate can be seen in about an hour, with stops at the various terraces overlooking the town and the Mediterranean See.
