    by

Location is excellent, it's new, all the things you need for good stay aircondition, good food, congress center, small spa...

Unique Quality: Excellent for exploring Costiera amalfitana. Just a few minutes from ferry to Amalfi and Positano.

Hotel options in city center

by blusky

If you're coming to Salerno by train and want to stay really near the city centre, you're lucky, becuase train station is situated in the city centre, actually on the main walking street of the city, from which you can start exploring it.
As for the possibilities of accomodation there are two options, actually two small hotels on the main street of Salerno, one is right accross the train station (Hotel Plaza) and the other one (Hotel Montestella) is max 5 minutes walk from the train station, on the main street.
Here are the links:
http://www.hotelmontestella.it/Info%20Inglese.html
http://www.plazasalerno.it/home.htm

For those who prefer room with the view, as well as the possibility of hotel with small pool, sunbathing possibilities, good food and not too far away from city centre, there's Grand Hotel Salerno, not even 10 minutes walk from the train station.

Salerno, Italy

by NYTX

"Salerno, Italy"

I like Salerno. It's not far from the Amalfi coast, ( which a bus can take you to ), the train stops right in town across from a hotel and post office, the food is great, the people a beautiful...shall I go on? Ok...the people are friendly, helpful, and artistic. The castle on top of the hill has great view of the town and sea. Naples is not far ( just on the other side of Amalfi coast ) to catch a plane instead of flying into Rome. Ferry boats can take you to Capri & Sicily.....it's one of my favorite places in Italy.

Benvenuti a Salerno

"********************************************"

Salerno is a very beautiful city situated in the middle of two enchanting coasts, the Amalfi and Cilento coasts.
In 194 b.C. it was a Roman colony and was named Salernum.
The city made progress and also enriched its culture and its traditions during the occupation of Goths, Byzantines, Longobards and Normans.
The Goths were defeated by the Greeks whose domination lastes 15 years (from 53 to 568), up to Longobards invaded almost the whole peninsula.
In 786 Arechi II, a Longobard prince, transferred the seat of the Dukedom of Benevento to Salerno, in order to elude Charlemagne's offensive and to secure himself the control of a strategic area, the centre of coastal and internal communications in Campania.

The rewal of the historical centre has been directed towards the rediscovery of the artistic and cultural treasures of an exceptional land.
Salerno appears more and more as a welcoming community for tourists from all over the world with its enchanting historical centre where it is possible to admire both the traces of its ancient history and the fervour of artisan shops and places for cultural and musical aggregation attended by thousands of people.
Salerno is a charming synthesis of what the Mediterranean can offer to anyone who wants to know it more closely.

Apartment/Room in Salerno

by rvarra

I'm looking to rent a room in a house or an apartment for a male student at least a year in Salerno Italy beginning August 2005. I would like to move in the next week if possible.

If anyone knows of any place to look, or knows of a place available, I'd be extremely grateful. I'm looking to spend no more than 250 euros.

Thanks a bunch!
