Costiera amalfitana: impossible to miss
Amalfi. Go there, walk around in the narrow streets of the old town, visit Sant'Andrea's cathedral, relax on the sea front, taste good food and buy some pottery. The place is fabulous in itself. Amalfi was one among the four traditional "sea republic" of Italy (the others being Venezia, Genova and Pisa), that means its life and economy always depended upon the sea.
Now, maybe, limoncello, the lemon liquer is economically more important: you will notice that lemon trees are everywhere in the Costiera Amalfitana. The problem is thay don't know what to do with the excess juice (limoncello is made with the outer skin of the fruit) and how to eliminate the residues from the extraction of aroma from the skin.
