Casa Astarita- the best place to stay
Casa Astarita is a family run B&B right in the heart of Sorrento. When you arrive by Bus or train walk out of the station, cross the road, walk to the next intersection which should be Corso Italia. Turn left and keep walking quite a few blocks, through the main shopping drag til you come to a little homewares shop called "Living '. The next door way is Casa Astarita. Go up 2 flights of stairs and if the door is closed call into the homewares shop as they own it to.
This is the front landing of Casa Astarita. Inside is just how it is on their website. A lovely girl by the name of Mirella, welcomed us warmly and settled us into our room.
We had the room called ROMANTICA. As you can see it was decorated in blue and green. It was very clean and comfortable with our own bathroom facilities
A few days at lunch or dinner time we would buy cheeses, meats and rolls from the deli next door and of course some Red wine from the supermarket and have our own picnic in our room.
The B&B was a very social place as it was a communal breakfast table where everyone would sit around and plan their days adventure. There was a little kitchen where you could make yourself tea or coffee whenever you wanted, all provided. Also available was juice, water, yougurt and biscuits. We were very spoilt here.
This place really set a high standard to match in other places that we stayed. No other place in Italy really even came close
Our room had it's very own Cupola. But not quite as big as St Peter's in Rome!!!
Just one more look at the Romantica. There were other themes too. Check out their website. It's all there on www.casaastarita.com
