The Best Western is 3 km from Sorrento centre, although they mention a 'courtesy shuttle':

The Aminta doesn't mention how far away it is, though they have a shuttle bus and say the walk to the town is 1.8km.

Shuttles are unlikely to run in the evenings, so either hotel will mean taxi or longish walk if you eat out in town (unless you will have a hire car).

Both hotels have good reputations and, personally, I would be happy with either. Both are on bus routes with nearby stops. Together with the courtesy bus service, this should provide convenient access to town. It is also convenient to explore the peninsula in the opposite direction. Walking to town is not a quick option. The Aminta is high up with terrific views. The footpath to town shortcuts the winding road and is steep.

This little town is situated near Amalfi, which is divided to tne "Aureo mountain". It had the same historical destiny of Amalfi Republic.
To visit:

I can't believe I didn't take a picture at this restaurant. All I can say is that everything was perfect and if you only have one night to spend in Sorrento this place is a great choice! Of course delicious pizza and surprisingly good octopus carpaccio and beef carpaccio!
One of my fondest memories of Sorrento is the beautiful sunsets. The best place to catch them is from Villa Comunale, a small park with a look-out platform over the sea. From here you can also see Vesuvius and Naples.
Amalfi served as a transfer point on our day trip through the Amalfi Coast to Ravello. The town has a pretty church and, if you’re hungry, a restaurant that sells the biggest pizza slices I have ever seen. If you walk the main drag, you'll see it.
Sorrento is a picturesque small "place" with piazzas and small streets. Have you seen the movie "Talanted Mr Ripley"? It take place here.
I went to Sorrento by train from Naples and it went along the water. From Sorrento you have fantastic view to Capri - the island.
