Going up to Compatsch at 6135 feet at the entrance to the meadow. I took the bus up and spent the day hiking on the glorious paths. There are miles and miles of trails as well as restaurants, mountain hotels and chair lifts. The views are better from each turn you take. This is definately not a place you can put your camera away. The Seiseralm Bergbahn cable car back down from Compatsch to the town of Siusi/Seis was very breathtaking. It takes about 15 minutes or so and travels about 2.5 miles I believe. The sound of the cow bells on the cows grazing in the beautiful meadows with the dramatic Dolomite mountains for a backdrop! Not another sound to be heard.
