Porticoes - typically Piedmontese?
My employers at Assimil recommended me to go for a walk in Chivasso before taking the train back home, in order to see its typical portici. This left me quite astonished because I had always thought that porticoes were typical for my region Veneto (where they form the lower part of some buildings - have a look at my Rovigo page) and of Bologna, the city with the longest sequence of porticoes.
When I told them about this, they smiled because they thought the same about their region! Anyway, the Chivasso porticoes are really beautiful and in better condition than those in Rovigo. However, I still think they are typical for Veneto: you will find them in every city, town and village of my region.
