  • Italy's best value for money

    by

It is a bit out of the way but again great value for money, breakfast, wifi, free parking, shuttle, cheap dinner and a great place to put your head. We stayed for 4 nights a great relaxing place.

Unique Quality: For the price is great value for money. There is wifi in the lobby on there computers or you can come with your own. We had been sitting out the front with either a coffee/cake or a beer for the afternoon. There is also a gym. Breakfast is also included in the price with great coffee, cereals, toast, croissants etc. A great & cheap dinner menu. Free parking! & shuttle bus to the train station for a small fee of 2,50 euro each way and the local bus to drop you back for 1, euro.

  • Out of town but good value.

First a tip: Instead of queuing up for a shuttle bus or taxi, take the local COTRAL bus marked Anagnina (make sure it's not the direct non-stop bus.) Pay driver on the bus (only 1.20 euros) and ask him to drop you off at the Hotel Palacavicchi (make sure you do has it is hard to spot it from bus). This bus also provides a very cheap route to Anagnina - the first stop for the Metro to the Termini in central Rome. Public transport in Italy is very cheap (we took a bus from Anagnina to Anzio (50 kms) for just 3.20 euros each and returned by train for the same price.
The hotel is one storey and sprawls so ask at reception for a room between 100 and 300 as the 600s are a long walk!
We were given a vast room in the 200s with a double bed and 2 singles and had all the usual facilities. Breakfast was very good but dinner worked out quite expensive. Bar was good although they ran out of draught beer!
We did not hear any noise from the Airport although I was kept awake by noisy celebrations following a wedding reception.
All in all this was a great hotel if you are prepared to use make use of Rome's excellent transportation system.

We were plesently suprised when we got inside, nice clean tiles, helpful staff, clean rooms, towels changed every day, also rooms were cleaned at the same time. We order 2 times pizza from bar to take a way, it was very tasty.
It was little noisy in the morning and in the evening, while planes were taking off, but as a sleeping base it was fine. We were so tired after comming back, that no noise could wake us up.

Unique Quality: Cheap transport to hotel, from airport bus stop, 1€ ticket, route to Anangina Metro Station, thru Ciampino, and in 3 minutes ur in a front of hotel, so do not bother about taking Hotel Shuttle, if u arrive during the day, over a night its nessesary, as the way to hotel goes thru highway
