motagnola

by baribrosh

is any one know the market in montagnola?
it is a fashion market.

Re: motagnola

by a.lena

What kind of information are you looking for?
The market takes place every Friday and Saturday, in the Montagnola park, in Piazza 8 Agosto and a nearby parking lot. It starts in the morning at 8 and goes on until sunset. The stalls in the park sell second-hand goods, while in the other parts of the market you find new goods. You can find unusual hand-made jewelry (costume jewelery mainly) lots of clothes and shoes in a wide range of prices.

it was located *under* Montagnola Park 30 years ago, nowdays you've to cross via Irnerio and go to the square 8 Agosto:)

Travel Tips for Bologna

Am I in food heaven?

by anne_danella_desouza

Just walking around the beautiful streets and buildings, and visiting the many museums and churches, shopping at the markets. My fondest memories are walking along the many small, cobbled streets, drinking in the historic architecture, shopping at the stores, and stopping for the best machiatos in the world. The lighting in that city is special, everything looks romantic.

Swimming? No way - the watter is not deep enough

by andreslo2000

If you chose to swim in Lidos along Adriatic coast from Venice to Ravenna you would not be a good choice taking it in the sea? Chose swimming pool instead because the sea is not deep enaugh. I was walking and walking to reach some deep watter but after a mile or so I gave up.
However there's still much to do on the beach instead of swiming. Just look at my favour sport activity (pic. below :-)) Sunglases, deck chair and a loot of spare time.

Ferrovie dello Stato

by Fra.da.

Bologna can be easily reached by train from the north and the south of Italy. Although Bologna has its own airport you will probably get to Bologna by train, arriving at "Bologna Centrale" railway station. I am not actually a big fan of Italian Ferrovie dello Stato, trains are pretty old and quite dirty, and thay are often late. Be aware if you need to catch two different trains: if the first is late, probably the second won't, and you'll miss it!! When you buy the ticket, don't forget to validate them in the small yellow ticket machines before you board your train. For more infomation, click here.
From the station you can easily get to downtown by bus

The best pizza in the city

by Gillianina about Il Veliero

This is both restaurant and pizzeria. The specialties are Pizza and fish. Very cosy place, with the interior furnished as to look like a sailing ship. It's quite small, so it's better to book, especially on the weekends.
The pizza is one of the best in Bologna, and also the biggest! It's bigger than the normal size in Italy, which is already big for foreigners!!

The team

by Calcio

After playing in the third division as late as 1994/95, Bologna now again has a team in the Serie A. With players like Giuseppe Signori, Roberto Baggio, Emil Kostadinov and Kenneth Andersson they had found their position around 7-11 in the Serie A after that, and 98/99 they reached as far as the semifinal in the Uefacup.
The Bologna that plays 2004/05 are more young, led by the “new Zinedine Zidane” Mourad Meghni. Other famous players are the goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca.
