I'm a US student and just finished studying in Italy for 6 months. My friend and I want to spend the month of June in Bologna. Any advice on how to find a cheap apartment for the month? Also what price range should we expect?
Also any information on what Bologna is like during the summer would be great!
Thanks :)

Hi,
in this website http://www.studentvillage.it/Bo_appartamenti.htm you can find some informartions about apartment rental in Bologna. This is another website: http://affittistudenti.studenti.it (both website are in italian). This city have a lot of students, so the apartments for students are very expansive, I think not less than 200 euros for a small room each month. Probably during June you can find something cheaper.
June could be a good time to visit Bologna. Usually is quite warm (more than 30 celsius degrees), but there are a lot of things to do and a good nightlife. The seaside is not so far and the Riviera Romagnola have tons of discos and pubs. During August the italians go to holiday, so Bologna become a desert (a very warm desert).
Enjoy
Riccardo

In the heart of Bologna, after more than 600 years, one can walk down a passageway through buildings that already linked Strada Maggiore to Piazza S .Stefano in the 13th century. Through porticos, loggia and courtyards, where medieval shops stood, you now find the ideal place for strolling, shopping and meeting people. Unusual boutiques, located in a unique setting, offer a wide range of high quality items, to satisfy the more refined clients. Art galleries, cafés, a restaurant, a travel agency, a bank and a company of specialised dealers and stockbrokers enrich your promenade along Corte Isolani.
Vito is a tipical 'emilana' trattoria born in the '50: the atmosphere is old style with a Bar to the entrance, the dining room is encircled from aluminium windows framed of sheets.
This osteria/trattoria is well-known in Bologna because is the meeting point of Guccini, a famous song writer that live near there and all the friends came there to eat a pasta with a glass of wine, so in the evening u can meet singer, palyer, actor and so on.but is a very informal place.
But the most important thing is the cuisine:it is great, bologna plates are perfect, like lasagne, gramigna with sausage ragù ( the true name of meet sauce in Bo), spezzatino with potatoes and beans. the antipasto is stange: a salted croissant with a carpaccio, salumis and some type of cheese.
It's like a big family, there no privacy between the tables, the waiters are a little bit eccentric but they are a part of the trattoria!
There is a beautifull italian page with the history of this trattoria....try it!

Nicola’s is the best pizza in Bologna: the crust is excellent, there are plenty of toppings to choose from and the price is reasonable. It is located in Piazza San Martino. The interior is welcoming with wood paneling, pastel colored walls, where local artists display their work.
The best time to eat here is the spring and summer, when tables are set up outside in the square.
They also serve a variety of well-prepared fish dishes.
Open Hours: Noon to 3pm and 7pm to Midnight Wednesday through Monday
From the Contini collection, the exhibition in Italian is entitled `Estro e Splendore', or `Talent and Splendour'. Actually, it's an exhibition of around 150 `ukiyo-e' prints, superb coloured xilographs of batttle scenes that inspuired Van Gogh and Monet. Ukiyo translates as `images of the floating world', a celebration of the ephemeral : boat trips, `kabuki' theatre, houses of pleasure. Artists included here are Kunisada, Kuniyoshi, Hiroshige.
