You'll need a city map!
by Airpunk
In some cities, you will find big charts with city maps. In some, orientation is easy, some cites will provide you with free maps. But none of the sentences is true with Bologna. The old town center is very large with a lot of smaller streets. That means that you will need a city map, if you don't want to get lost. I did not found a free city map, so I had to buy one at the tourist information. I felt somewhat ripped-off after paying three Euros for a city map from 1999. Try bring one with where at least the area between central train station and Piazza di Porta San Stefano is displayed.
Chiesa di Ss Vitale e Agricola
by Tijavi
This is the oldest church in the four-church (originally seven) complex of Basilica di Santo Stefano. Most of the structure, which makes use of recycled Roman masonry and carvings, were constructed in the 11th century. The church houses the tombs of Saints Vitalis and Agricola (hence, the name), Christian martyrs in the 4th century.

Expensive
by Burova about Restaurant Cesarina
Little restaurant with typical Bolognese cooking. It is located near the church of Santo Stefano, on a very beautiful piazza. You can enjoy the view if you choose a table near the entrance. The food is nothing special, however it could be the only choice on Sunday at luch in the centre of the town. More expensive than the average, especially the desserts, that definitely are not worth the price (? 8,50!!!).
Piazza Nettuno.

In this square you’ll find in Neptune fountain. We loved it, as did the pigeons. It dates back to 1566. It is said that Neptune's hand was carefully positioned so as to block the view of his nudity from the Palazzo Re Enzo. The tourist information office is on the opposite side of the square.
